Nfor on the other hand, after taking Ebote as wife, transforms her into a punching bag because he paid a very expensive bridewealth (Bridewealth according to Britannica refers to payment made by a groom or his kin to the kin of the bride in order to ratify a marriage. Also called bride-price or marriage payment)
My Gender My Pain is a Cameroonian film produced by Jokfu Nkewir Peter (Montana Peters) and directed by the star director Mofor Emmanuel aka Hiranking the Power Director under the production house Sumit Productions. All put together in 2019.
Produced in the heart of the anglophone crisis, the movie paints a clear picture of what the population witness on a daily base, caught in the middle of numerous lockdowns and shutdowns which hinders and risks any movements. The movie is bundled with emotions, education and lots of humour.
This story was told by Fonyuy Noel Banfogha, an Educational Psychologist and a writer who observed what women go through in most Sub-saharan African societies. The movie also features brilliant talents such as Ebote Nadia, Palmer Ngale Mbua, Glory Chando Mokake and many more.
This is the young producer’s second work published on Amazon Prime Video after Choices We Make, gradually overcoming the challenges Cameroonian filmmakers face in their career which is that of distributing their movies out to fans all over the world.
